Mission

A good friend once said to me: "If a door opens in front of you - get off your ass and dance through it...laughing."

I'm trying, Nancy!

Photo Project #2

Another 52 week photo project headed up by Monica Hughes on Facebook.  This project is quite a bit different from the last one.  This one has a different "theme" each week.  The theme usually isn't decided upon until Saturday and the photo is due by the following Sunday, so no planning ahead like last time.

 1/52  Freedom & Independence
My original plan was to take a shot of my driver's licence, but I had trouble coming up with a clever arrangement that wouldn't give the world my personal data.  I switched to this instead.  Kinda wishing I'd stayed with the driver's licence now because one of the suggested themes for an upcoming week is Travel.  This would've been perfect for that....

2/52  Summer Love
So, I cheated a little.  The photos are supposed to be taken during the week of the posting.  None of these were...Sue me.

3/52  Simplicity
I managed to suck all of the simplicity out of this post by taking about 300 shots to get close to what I was seeing in my head.  Never did get the gauzy soft look I was aiming for.

4/52  Chaos
All 4 corners of our garage.  'Nuff said.

5/52  A Sticky Situation
I hate cinnamon!  Oh, how I suffer for my art... :)

6/52  Change
Couldn't find any caterpillars changing into butterflies, so...

7/52  Serenity
Ahhh.  Actually, Dan was wondering why I was pouring a glass of wine at 6am, but hey, when inspiration strikes, you just have to go with it.

8/52  On the road again
On the way to Canmore for the weekend

9/52  Weather
Lucky break.  Managed to get a week with a bit of everything in it.
Flip flops on Monday, mukluks on Wednesday.

10/52  Ingenuity

Our new fence has a little window in it so I can access the compost bin without walking all the way around and out in to the alley.  Pure genius!  Thank you, Dan.

11/52  Temptation
Oatmeal/chocolate chip/raisin.  How many is too many?

12/52 Nostalgia
Reminiscing over my high school yearbooks with a glass of wine. (Cranberry juice, actually)

13/52  Blue
Snapped this shot of a row of blue shoes at a store.  Probably should've just posted the original photo.
Playing with an app on my new i-Phone - took about 2 hours!

14/52  Emotions
At first I thought this would be an easy theme - WRONG!  I finally settled for out-of-focus Smarties.

15/52  Things that make me happy
My Kindle, a bottle of bubbly, and a bowl of chocolate covered almonds.  Yes, that'll work!

16/52  Brisk
 I hate this hokey picture.

17/52  Halloween
It's all about the candy for me.

18/52  Trees
Snapped this from the parking lot at work one morning.  Not as sharp as I was hoping for, but I was juggling my purse, my tote bag and trying to take a picture at the same time.

19/52  Favourite colour
Who can decide?
I bought new pencil crayons weeks ago and didn't want to use them until I photographed them.  I've seen shots like this on Flickr, and I wanted to try it.

20/52  Reflection
I cheated on this one.  I had to dig in the archives to find a decent reflection shot.  This was taken somewhere in Arizona during Travels With Vincent.

21/52  Footwear
Appropriate theme for me this week.  I feel like I've got a foot in 2 worlds.

22/52  Liquid
Taken through the windshield of the Isuzu during a downpour in Puerto Peñasco.  I was going to clean up the blue tint from the top of the windshield, but decided I liked it.

23/52  Food
Our neighbour, Pedro brought over this meal that he cooked for us.

24/52  Before and after
Tres leche cake for Carl & Dan's birthday.

25/52  All you need is love
No explanation necessary

26/52  Holiday cheer
After I submitted this one, I wished I'd had one or two balls at the base of the glass to show that the holiday cheer was overflowing.

27/52  Repetition
The afghan that I was working on for Faith.

 28/52  Something written
From the beautiful book "Nice Rendition".
Cheryl Wheeler's lyrics done in calligraphy

29/52  Black & white
This ancient Apple computer was on the bar at Max's Cafe.  Looked old enough that it should be in B/W

30/52  Effervescense
99 attempts to take a picture of baking soda in sparkling water.  Arrrgghhh!

31/52  Self portrait
Right.  Like I'm going to purposely point the camera at myself.

32/52  Doorways
So much cuter when the outer door is closed.  Why the Hell did I take the photo when it was open?

33/52  Juxtaposition
This is the house by the tracks that Nancy & Pedro lived in when Faith was first born.  If they'd had a window, they would've had a nice view of the fancy condos in the upscale neighbourhood of Las Conchas.

34/52  Anything goes
Well, if you leave the subject up to me, you shouldn't be surprised if you get a photo of Taz.

35/52  Macro/close-up
Monarch in a pool.  Pretty sure he was dead, but I still liked the background bokeh.

36/52  Red
Snapped on the fly with the phone at Walmart.

37/52  Green - St. Patrick's Day
Found this couple strolling along the pathway by the beach in Maui.  They were delighted to pose for me.
Top o' the mornin' to ya.

38/52  Animals
This little guy was sitting on my knee.
So disappointing - it looked so crisp and clear on the tiny screen on my phone.

39/52  The beauty of everday objects.
It's a placemat.  Not very inspired this week.

40/52  Signs of spring
An Instagram photo.  I was going for dreamy and guaze-y, but got washed out instead.

41/52  Wide open spaces
On the way home from Canmore.

42/52  Firefighting

43/52  Action

44/52 Angels

Two options for Angels.  When the theme was first mentioned, I couldn't think of a single thing.  Got my eye on the cafe on the way back from Canmore, and the statues were at the garden shop which I HAD to stop at because it was kind of in the neighbourhood of the cafe.  Well, not really, but I got lost...
