Mission

A good friend once said to me: "If a door opens in front of you - get off your ass and dance through it...laughing."

I'm trying, Nancy!

Ahhh, it's good to be back home again after that brief fling with Turquoise, travels and tea.. It was fun for awhile, I was swept away with the pretty colour, and the fancy Italic font, but it never really felt right to me. So I'm back here at comfy old DTL.

So, what's new? Well, I have a new job that's really cutting in to my leisure time. It's been a lot of years since I've worked full time. Who the hell thought working 5 days and only getting 2 off was a good idea? That's crazy! (Although, my bank account is happy about it :-) Luckily, it's just a temporary gig for me, and knowing that, I can handle it. My assignment should last right up until we leave for Mexico in the fall though, so that's pretty cool. The commute is ideal, it takes about 7 minutes door-to-door, and I only have to fill my gas tank up about once a month! Gotta love that!

I'm still doing the photo-a-day challenge that I started on January 1st. I know - more than six months and I haven't missed a single day! Remember, my previous attempt at this challenge lasted a whole 3 days, so this is huge for me! If you're not on Instagram, there's a link to my gallery on the right hand side of this blog. It worked when I tested it, but that might be because I'm trying to access my own account. Let me know if it doesn't work for you.

I've been out of blogging mode for a long time (as some of you have repeatedly reminded me), and I've missed it, but now that I've decided to ditch the T3 blog, I feel a lot better about it. It's good to be back here at DTL, and I plan on continuing until it's time to switch back to Mexican Madness in the fall.

And apropos of nothing, just because I don't like posts without photos, here are a couple of shots from the pipcamera app.

After I'd stuffed a few bizarre things in milk bottles, (it's a fun app) Dan said I should put a cow in a bottle, so I did.

Yeah, didn't turn out quite as I'd envisioned it, but if you'd seen how much trouble I had doing it, you'd appreciate it more.

Thanks for stopping by.

Glad you are back. I bet you are noticing a difference working 5 days and probably 8 hours!! Hope we can work in a lunch soon. Thanks for blogging again.

7.5 hours, but yeah, huge change. It's not so bad though, it's busier than stink, and of course I'm learning lots, so the time flies by. Also, the office is right on the bike path, so I get out for walks at lunchtime. We should meet at Foxhollow on a Friday, it's about a 5 minute walk away.

The next 2 Fridays are out but will be in touch for sure. Been at Stampede last 2 days so will be at the office for the rest of the week. Next Friday we are going on the Ag Tour. Tell your boss to let you go!

My co-worker is going, so there's a slim chance I could see you there.

Hey, I found you again!
It's nice to be back at DTL.
Congrats on the new gig, too. Some cryptic details to follow, or else.
I understand you're dying to check out the Summer weather in Sonora sometime in the near future. It's a riot, ...really.
Hope to see you folks soon.
Hi Taz!

Hey Carl, glad you found DTL.
At the rate the condo sale is moving, it could be October before we get there, but I'm okay with that. Dan & I would probably die in a Sonoran summer.
Taz says woof.

Ha, fooled ya. It's still Summer in October.
Well till about the 15th most years, and by then we'd kill for some relief from the humidity.
Last year it knocked off right at the beginning of the month so you might be right on time.
Taz said something about the roof?

Ugh, I don't know how you stand it.
I'm not fluent in dog, but she said something about a gingerbread house...
Oh man, that was funny! It still cracks me up. Who knew Taz was a comedian?

I finally found out you were blogging again! The Taz roof comment still brings tears to my eyes, too, the laughing too hard kind.

Congrats on the new job, more details are needed but I haven't read on in the blog. We miss you guys as usual!

Welcome back, Melody. Still no word on when we'll get down there to close on the condo, but when we do, you and I are SO going out for margaritas!
